An IKEA kitchen can look fantastic and costs less than many alternatives — but it arrives completely flat-packed. Good fitting is what makes it look high-end. Here is how we install IKEA kitchens in London homes.
The METOD system
IKEA’s METOD kitchens hang wall units and, in many layouts, base units from a suspension rail fixed to the wall. The rail must be perfectly level and securely anchored, which can be challenging on old plaster and stud walls. We check every wall and use the correct fixings for its construction.
Assembly takes time
Every cabinet, drawer and internal fitting must be assembled. A typical IKEA kitchen has hundreds of parts, so assembly is included as a separate stage in our quote. We check the delivery first so missing items can be collected before fitting starts.
Common pitfalls we fix
- Plinth heights that do not suit uneven floors.
- Gaps where cabinets meet walls because no filler panels were ordered.
- Integrated appliances that need specific ventilation gaps.
- Worktop joints in the wrong place for the room.
Worktops, sinks and appliances
IKEA laminate and wood worktops are cut and fitted on site, including sink and hob cut-outs. Many customers upgrade to quartz, which we coordinate with a stone supplier. Appliances are connected by our plumbing and electrical team, and gas hobs by a Gas Safe registered engineer.
Why use a professional IKEA kitchen fitter?
A carefully fitted IKEA kitchen will last for years and look far more expensive than it is. Poor fitting shows quickly in uneven doors and gaps. Our work comes with a fixed-price quote and a written workmanship guarantee.

Frequently asked questions
Do you assemble IKEA cabinets as well as fit them?
Yes. Assembly of cabinets, drawers and internal fittings is part of our IKEA installation service and is priced clearly in the quote.
Can IKEA kitchens be fitted on old plaster walls?
Yes, but the suspension rail and wall units need fixings suited to the wall type. We check every wall and use the correct method for brick, block, plasterboard or lath and plaster.
Can I use a quartz worktop with an IKEA kitchen?
Absolutely. Many customers combine IKEA units with quartz or solid wood worktops. We coordinate templating and fitting with the stone supplier.
What if something is missing from my IKEA order?
We check the delivery before starting. IKEA orders are large, and it is common for a few small items to be missing, so early checks prevent delays.
