A media wall combines the TV, storage, shelving and lighting into one built-in piece of furniture. It hides cables, removes clutter and creates a focal point for the room.
Plan around the TV
Start with the exact model and size of your TV — and the next one you might buy. The recess should leave a margin around the screen and allow ventilation. Mount height is usually set so the centre of the screen is close to eye level when seated.
Hide the cables
Plan sockets, aerial, network and HDMI routes before building. A media wall should have no visible cables, with access panels for future changes.
Storage and display
Closed cupboards keep consoles and routers out of sight, while open shelves display books and decorative items. Push-to-open doors give a clean, handleless look.
Lighting and fireplaces
LED strips around the TV recess and shelves add atmosphere. Many media walls also include an electric fire, which needs its own clearances and power supply.
Built to fit your room
Like all bespoke joinery, a media wall is scribed to your walls and ceiling so it looks part of the house. We plan the electrics and carpentry together so the result is seamless.

Frequently asked questions
How big should a media wall be?
That depends on the room and TV size. As a guide, the TV should take up the centre of the wall with balanced storage either side.
Can a media wall include a fire?
Yes. Electric fires are popular in media walls and need their own power supply and clearances.
Can I change my TV later?
Design the recess with some extra space and plan cable access panels, so a future TV can be fitted without rebuilding the wall.
How long does a media wall take?
After design and manufacturing, most media walls are installed in two to three days, including electrics and finishing.
